Technology

In technology we endeavour to provide a wide variety of Design and Make projects for our students in line with the National Curriculum. In Key Stage 3 students follow a carousel system so they can experience Resistant Materials, Graphics, CAD/CAM, Food and Electronics within nine week blocks. At Key Stage 4 students choose from OCR Graphic Products, Resistant Materials and Food Technology. Currently there is a BTEC course running at Havering College where a group of our students are studying Construction.

The technology suite is made up of three Resistant Materials rooms each equipped with band saws, band faced sanders, pillar drills and hand tools. We are looking forward to our refurbishment in the next year where we will open up the space to include a large Graphics room equipped with state of the art computers and computer aided manufacture.

The Technology Department also has an excellent technician who organises resources and maintains the equipment, and helps develop new and old projects. In Food we have recently been joined by another wonderful technician
