Welcome to The Sanders Draper School

Front of School

This website will give you the flavour of our foundation school and we hope you like it. However, seeing for yourself is best so please pay us a visit and see the school in action.

This is a friendly school, with high expectations. We emphasise the traditional values of hard work, respect for others, good manners, punctuality and being smartly dressed. We believe that school should be enjoyable, with good humour and fair play being a major part of sound discipline and positive staff-student relationships.

Children are at school for only a few years. We aim to fill that time with the best possible experiences, and the skills needed to make the most of adult life.

We aim to fill that time with all the best experiences, and the skills needed to make the most of adult life

We look to parents and carers to support us, in a partnership where both sides play a full part, committed to success in all aspects of school life – academic, sporting and social. We aim to produce confident young people, who have experienced responsibility and are willing to use their initiative.

Head Teacher's Announcements

Building Schools for the Future

On 6th July 2010, the Education Secretary Michael Gove announced that the Building Schools for the Future programme had been scrapped, as part of the Government’s efforts to slash national spending. Nationally around 700 school building projects across the country were cancelled with immediate effect.

For The Sanders Draper School and Specialist Science College this means that the planned improvements to our school will now not be taking place. This is obviously disappointing for us and we are considering the implications of the announcement.

We have been working very hard during this school year to develop a vision for the future of the school. We have also been working closely with other Havering schools and the local authority to bring together our ideas for transforming learning across the borough. And whilst the building programme may have been cancelled, we remain committed to improving teaching and learning.

We will, therefore, take the opportunity in the Autumn to share our vision for the future and to determine how we can continue to improve our school in light of this development.
