Dear Parents and Carers,

 

At this time we know that you will be giving serious consideration to a choice of secondary school for your son or daughter. This process is often a difficult one and we hope we can help you to make the best choice for your child.

 

Our school will be open to prospective students and their parents on Thursday 18th September, from 6.30pm onwards. We hope very much you will be able to attend. Our Open Evening is exceptionally well attended so please allow time for parking following our stewards’ instructions.

 

In order to accommodate all our guests, the Head Teacher will give three identical talks at 6.45, 7.15 and 7.45 p.m.

 

These sessions are very popular, therefore, guests are requested to be seated in the Main Hall ten minutes before the start of each talk. A transcript of the Head Teacher’s speech will be available in our information pack.

Dear Parents and Carers,

 

End of term arrangements: term will finish on Tuesday 22nd July when students will be dismissed at approximately midday. School lunch will be available for those students who may wish to use this service. It will be a voluntary non uniform day at a cost of 50p.

 

Start of Term: the Autumn term starts for students on Thursday 4th September, for Year 7 students at 8.40am. Year 10 students should arrive at school for 9.50am. Years 8, 9 and 11 students are expected in school at 11.00am. This is a change to our recent practice but we only have two teaching days in the first week so we want everyone in school on the Thursday but at staggered times. Students need to come equipped for all lessons as normal except for PE.

 

Lunch time arrangements: the lunchtime break will be from 1.15pm to 2.05pm. Parents are reminded that only Year 11 students are allowed to leave the premises at lunchtime. Any student wishing to go home for lunch must fill in a new...

  70th Anniversary Celebrations

21st June 2008

  

Saturday 21st June 2008 saw the largest gathering of past Sanders Draper students and staff to celebrate the school's 70th Anniversary. 

Students and staff from over 70 years were invited to the street style party celebrations to reminisce, swap stories and tour the current school facilities, assisted by the Senior Prefects of the school.

A wonderful time was had by all as the pictures show (click onto the 70th Anniversary Logo). 

Loraine Woolford, Publicity Manager for the school said “We had a fantastic mix of generations to reminisce, swap stories and tour the current school. We are very proud of the heritage of the school’s name and what it means to the students and staff, past and present.”

The Drama Department will be doing a play called "And Then There Were None".

It is being performed on Wednesday and Thursday evenings 9th-10th July 2008.
