The launch of the Deaf Awareness Week was excellent. A speech was done by Ceiri Van Haeften signed by Julie Russell (Communicator in the HIU at SDS). This was followed by Victoria Bearman and Ellie Freeman reading and signing a poem written by Ceiri Van Haeften. The exhibition was then opened by Councillor Georgina Galpin, which was followed by a signed performance of Proud by the Sanders Draper Signing Club Choir. Thanks were offered to Georgina, the students and Fiona Conboy who helped enormously with the preparation of the display. The students then devoured the enormous cookie donated by Millie’s Cookies!!

Balloons and flowers looked fantastic.
