Key Stage 3
On admission to the school, students are arranged into mixed ability Form groups. For a large part of their timetable, students are taught in mixed ability teaching groups apart from grouping into sets based on ability for Mathematics, Modern Languages and Science.
The Curriculum provides a balanced programme which lays a firm foundation for courses studied at Key Stage 4.

Key Stage 4
Students at Key Stage 4 study the core subjects of the National Curriculum.

In addition, four option subjects are chosen by each student. These are guided choices to ensure a balanced curriculum which best meet each students needs. In order to follow the English Baccalaureate students must select a humanities subject and a modern language. This still gives them the opportunity to study a further two subjects. We also work with Further Education Colleges and local schools to provide practical vocational courses for our students. The following subjects are available:
