Friends of Sanders Draper

The school has a small team of parents and friends working behind the scenes to raise funds towards a better future for our students. Their efforts made a notable contribution towards raising the £50,000 needed to apply for Specialist Science Status. Even though this has been achieved and the school receives government funding, there will never be enough money. There are so many plans for improvement that we will still need extra funding. We live in a reasonably wealthy part of the country and many of us find the money to treat our children to expensive gifts. A child's education is one the greatest gifts we can offer to them, surely the better the environment and resources then the better opportunities they will have for their educational development. Parents and friends can contribute to these occasions in an enjoyable and social way by attending the many events held by The Friends of Sanders Draper. They organise regular Quiz Nights, an annual Band Evening with dancing, wining and dining, occasionally fayres and other events. "The Friends" would like and indeed need custom on this occasions and would welcome your support by attending these events and any offers of help.
200 CLUBThe 200 Club is simply a lottery of up to 200 people who contribute £10.40 annually. The cost is £.10.40 per annum for which you receive a lottery number. There is no restriction on the quantity of 'numbers' any one person may have. The proceeds from the 200 Club go to the Friends of Sanders Draper fund, which is used to provide a variety of items for the school that may not otherwise be available through normal funding. The monthly draws with prizes of 3 x £10.00, 3 x £5.00 take place at Friends of Sanders Drapers meetings held every 2 months and two six monthly draws with prizes of 1 x £100.00, 1 x £50.00, 1 x £25.00 which take place at the meetings in June and January. I enclose a standing order for subscriptions via your bank which we prefer to use rather than collecting cash, alternatively you may wish to pay £10.40 annually by cheque, made payable to the Friends of Sanders Draper and sent to me at the address given below. However, because yearly reminders are often necessary for cash/cheque payment the standing order method reduces collecting costs/time and is thus a more desirable system. Should you require any further information do not hesitate to contact us. Carol Young - Chair |
